We had a lovely Christmas with Matt’s family and spent the last two weeks doing family things while Matt’s brother and sister in law visited.  It was a delightful time, but sadly I have no pictures because I also got lazy on that front).

But on to the new windows!  So last time I wrote here, I let you know that we had decided to go forth with the purchase, but that both of us were super nervous about our decision.  The windows have now been in for 2 weeks and let me tell you me, they are faaaaabbuuullloooouuuss.   They don’t look as pretty as the old ones but damn it we’re warm and that counts for something.  It is also 2 degrees outside right now, and we have no frozen condensation.  Which means I don’t have to worry about it melting off the windows and getting into all of our electrical outlets.  Amazing.  The project set our savings behind a lot, but we don’t regret the decision.  I haven’t known such warmth in this house.  It’s great.  Also a bonus, I think my winter depression is lessening, because normally we keep all of our heavy curtains drawn day and night so that the cold air would be somewhat stopped – but now, windows are open during the day!  The light!  The light!

Let’s see… recent news… not much to share really.  I joined Weight Watchers a couple of weeks ago – I’m getting down to the wire here and have to fit into this dress.  I’ve lost 2.5 pounds and am over the stage where I feel like I’m starving all the time.  Gone are the days where I make cookies and lace everything with buttery deliciousness.  Here are the days where I make healthy things to eat in tiny little portions.  Like my new favorite: whole wheat pasta, feta, garlic, scallions, and asparagus.  Delicioso!  And only 5 to 6 points!

Matt finished our screen door, and it is beautiful!

I made a tiny little dress-thing for Laina.  Or pinafore, as it may be.

We got some more play time in with Marin.

And I made one crafty page.
